Luke 11:27–28
While Jesus was saying this, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you and the breasts that nursed you!” But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”
Reflection
• To receive the word of God is a greater gift than to receive the body of Jesus in the womb. Can I ask Jesus to help me welcome his word today?
• Mary is richly blessed by giving birth to Jesus but, even more, by hearing his word and receiving it as the years go by. Can I, in my prayer today, sit quietly to listen and ponder what God says to me?
